French Oral Preparation Course
As an extension of the Euro Languages College summer courses, we also run a one-day French Oral Exam Preparation Course which has been running since 2004.
Students who take this course will gain increased confidence and be better equipped to succeed in the French oral examination.
25% of the overall grade in higher level Leaving Cert French so it is important to maximise the chances of getting higher grades.
What Happens On The ELC Oral Day?
Have a mock oral exam and get feedback with an experienced Teacher.
Full explanation of the marking scheme and how to get into the top bands.
Individual Q & A practice sessions.
Tips on how to expand answers, lead the examiner, personalise, replies etc.
A list of common mistakes with grammar structures.
Training on verbs and oral questions associated with them.
Why Should I Attend the ELC Oral Day?
Small groups – 1 Teacher to a maximum of 15 students.
You will gain in confidence as the oral exam will no longer feel like unknown territory.
You will get notes so that you can continue your oral preparation and practice at home before actual exam.

Course Dates and Venues
Course dates and venues will be announced in the coming weeks through the website and social media.
Timetable for the Day
10.00am – 1.00pm Course teaching and participation.
1.00pm – 2.00pm Lunch. Please bring own packed lunch or eat locally.
2.00pm – 5.00pm Course teaching and participation.
The individual mock oral examinations will take place throughout the day.
Some students may finish at 5.30pm if the individual mock oral examinations run on longer than expected.
The fees to attend the course are €140
Fees include tuition, mock oral, course notes and refreshments.

The courses are strictly for students who will take their Leaving Certificate Examinations in June 2020
Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
A high standard of behaviour and good manners is required at all times. Students must obey the college rules and the direction of the staff.
If a student is in breach of the above rules, a member of the Euro Languages College staff will immediately contact the student’s parents to advise them of the situation and request that they collect their son / daughter or arrange for them to be sent home on public transport.
