French Oral Day Course - Euro Languages College

As an extension of the Euro Languages College summer courses, our curriculum experts have researched and developed a one day French Pre Oral Exam Day Course.

In 2004 we ran our first French Oral Preparation course as we have the experience and skills required to deliver this specific course to optimise the students performance in the Higher Leaving Cert French Oral Exam.

Students who take this course will gain increased confidence and be better equipped to succeed in the oral examination.

The courses are strictly for students who will take their Leaving Certificate Higher French Examination in 2013.

The French Oral Exam 2014

The French Oral examination makes up 25% of the grade at Higher Level Leaving Certificate French. It is important to feel prepared and confident in order to maximize the chances of getting a higher mark.

What Happens On The ELC Oral Day?

Have a mock oral exam and get feedback with an experienced Teacher
Full explanation of the marking scheme and how to get into the top bands.
Watch videos of orals and identify how to get top marks.
Individual Q & A practice sessions
Tips on how to expand answers, lead the examiner, personalise, replies etc.
A list of common mistakes with grammar structures.
Training on verbs and oral questions associated with them.

Timetable for the Day

09.30am Registration.
10.00am - 1.00pm Course teaching and participation.
1.00pm - 2.00pm Lunch. Please bring own packed lunch or eat locally.
2.00pm - 4.30pm Course teaching and participation.

The individual orals will take place throughout the day.

Some students may finish at 5.00pm if the orals run on.

Course Fees

The fees to attend the course are €125

Fees include tuition, mock oral, course notes and refreshments.

Rules

The courses are strictly for students who will take their Leaving Certificate Examinations in June 2013
Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
A high standard of behaviour and good manners is required at all times. Students must obey the college rules and the direction of the staff.
If a student is in breach of the above rules, a member of the Euro Languages College staff will immediately contact the student’s parents to advise them of the situation and request that they collect their son / daughter or arrange for them to be sent home on public transport.
