Brief Outline of What Happens?

  • Students live in a boarding school for a period just short of 3 weeks.
  • Classes take place 6 days a week usually from 9.30am – 1.00pm.
  • Activities in the afternoons and evenings (all conducted in the target language).
  • Students are expected to communicate in the target language at all times.

 

Who Can Attend ELC?

All secondary school students who have completed at least one year of language learning at secondary level. Students currently in 1st or 2nd year go to the junior courses and students who have completed the Junior Cert go to senior courses.

Where Are The Courses?

The language courses take place in carefully selected boarding schools with spacious grounds and a variety of sporting facilities:

  • Clongowes Wood College, Clane, Co Kildare
  • St Mary’s College, Galway
  • St Flannan’s College, Ennis, Co Clare
  • Villiers School, Limerick
  • Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co Tipperary
